David Loftis, Minister of Worship
Welcome to Pleasant Garden Worship Ministries!
Thanks for stopping by our site. Our vision statement summarizes our desire in ministry:
"Taking the church to the cross . . . taking the cross to the world."

We seek to honor the Lord in our corporate worship times by drawing attention to Him, and in turn directing
people toward His heart. God wants nothing less from you than total transformation – which leads to an
abundant life lived completely as we serve Him together. We also are convinced that when our hearts are tuned to worshipping Him, we will "proclaim His glory among the nations."
Here are a few ways we strive to reach this goal:
THREE SERVICES PLUS . . .
Rather than debate the styles of worship, at Pleasant Garden we celebrate the diversity of the Body of Christ,
recognizing that God has children all over the planet worshipping in a variety of ways. For our culture there are a few distinct ways we love to worship our God, and our services represent those styles.
8:15 – Heritage of Faith –Accompanied by piano & organ with our Saints Alive choir leading in worship, this traditional service honors
the heritage given us by centuries of psalms, hymns and spiritual songs.
9:30 – Modern Worship – This service features a live Praise Band and uses a combination of cutting edge worship songs given to the
church in the last decade to focus our families on the new sounds of praise.
11:00 – Blended Praise – With a live praise team and Worship Choir, this service ties together our rich heritage with the strong
sounds of the past two decades to declare His glory. If you haven't been to an 11:00 service lately, you don't know what you're missing . . .
6:00 – Sunday Nights At PGBC – Sunday nights bring a variety of stylings before our people, from Southern Gospel to
contemporary; local to international.
SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES IN WORSHIP
PG CELEBRATION CHOIR - The name is derived from our goal to
be a Praise driven, Gospel centered ministry group – thus the "PG" This inter-generational choir serves weekly in our 9:30 & 11:00 services, as well as for
special Holiday outreach events. Our rehearsals are designed specifically as fun filled family times of fellowship and discipleship as we grow together into
lead worshippers who bring honor to the Lord and guide people to the cross. Two rehearsal times are offered: Sunday nights from 7:05-8:15 pm and on
Wednesday nights from 6:15-7:45pm (mid-August to June). Now would be a great time to join this dynamic ministry! Contact Paulette Davis (firstname.lastname@example.org) for more information.
SAINTS ALIVE CHOIR – The Senior Adult Choir – aptly named – provides a wonderful opportunity
for active excited seniors to share their faith through song. Practice is on Tuesday mornings at 11:00 a.m.
This group prepares musicales as well as anthems and is "on the road" several times a year sharing God's message at other churches, retirement homes and conferences for senior adults. They serve regularly at
the 8:15 a.m. service. Contact David Loftis (email@example.com) for more information.
PRAISE BAND –
Our 9:30 Praise Band leads our Modern Worship service, and is made up of
servants called to excellence in God honoring contemporary praise. In addition to a rotation of Sundays at 9:30, the group plays out occasionally for
local ministries and leads worship concerts during holiday seasons. Positions are available by audition. We are presently expanding our band to offer
modified instrumentation at the 11:00 hour as well. Contact Mike Keaton (mwkonfire4JC@gmail.com) or David Loftis (firstname.lastname@example.org) for more information.
PRAISE TEAMS –
We believe the energy derived from lead worshippers is
contagious, so we are constantly encouraging singers who can help lead our people into Christ honoring worship. Currently running two AM teams for our 11:00 service and a Summer
praise Team for evening services. Contact David Loftis (email@example.com) for more information.
STUDENT PRAISE BAND –
Our student-led worship band is mentored by adults, and takes our high
school and middle school worshippers to the foot of the cross. This team plays regularly in Student events and on rotation for Sunday gatherings as well. Contact David Loftis (firstname.lastname@example.org) for more information.
VISUAL PRAISE TEAM – God is a God of beauty, so maintaining the majesty of praising Him through a well designed worship space
takes creativity and energy. Our Visual Praise team does just that. Far more than a "flowers" committee, this team takes on projects that
seasonally point our hearts heavenward as we seek to use all our senses to bring praise to God. Interested in serving? Contact Paulette Davis (email@example.com) for more information.
FIRST IMPRESSIONS TEAM – As people choose to attend our church, we want their experience to be as delightful as possible. The vision of our First Impressions team is to create a good
experience "from the parking lot to the pew" and beyond. Making guests comfortable and welcome is a
priority to us at PGBC, and this team seeks to make that a reality. Interested in joining us? Contact David Loftis (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Larry Hoyle (email@example.com) for more information.
NEW THIS FALL –
Instruments of Praise. As we expand our opportunities for service, we are adding Instruments in Praise to our current ministry
offerings. Playing monthly in different services, these ensembles seek to obey the admonition to "let everything that has breath praise the
Lord." Currently building groups by "section" (i.e. brass, woodwinds, strings, etc.). Contact David Loftis (firstname.lastname@example.org) for more information.
